Origami is an art form with a history originating in Japan. Involving the folding of paper into cranes and other shapes and structures, it began in the 17th Century. As more people were exposed to this activity, it continued to grow in popularity, spreading outside of Japan's boarding during the mid-20th Century. The best known image of origami centers around folding paper cranes, but origami goes well beyond that in styles and constructions available. Almost all origami begins with a square sheet of paper sitting flat upon the table.

For anyone taking a look at origami as something fun to learn, it can be an incredibly rewarding activity. As with most other artistic endeavours being considered, the most important element of them is patience and taking the time to learn. Very few people will be able to pick up the involved skills immediately, instead taking practice and patience to learn those skills over time. Obviously, good hand-eye co-ordination are critical for anyone considering origami, as well as flexible hands and fingers without much stiffness or restriction of movement. A bit of hand strength can also be of benefit, particularly for those attempting to use more rigid types of paper.

All types of origami lessons are offered through ClassClassifieds, including children’s origami lessons, women’s origami lessons, and men’s origami lessons.

Another great way to learn origami is by joining an origami club or by attending an origami camp (perhaps an origami summer camp?), which you can find on ClassClassifieds.
